Head of the National Agency for Identification, Tracing and Management of Assets Derived from Corruption and Other Crimes (Agency) Anton Yanchuk has said employees are being hired and the agency will begin work before 2018.
"The Agency today announces a competition to fill vacant billets among category "B" and "C" public service employees for the central office of the National Agency. Some 16 positions need to be filled," Yanchuk said at a press conference on Tuesday.
Competitions for the post of chief and specialists for identification and tracing of assets, legal specialists, international management and communications specialists will be held.
Yanchuk said the Agency would concentrate first on identification of assets.
"Of course, we are interested in selection of qualified specialists. Taking this into account, the Agency will fulfill a new function in Ukraine's legal sphere, since finding specialists who are 100% qualified for the positions in Ukraine is unlikely, but there is a list of professions and spheres where we can find specialists," he said.
According to Yanchuk, the Agency needs specialists in financial security, law-enforcement experts and individuals who are familiar with the fight against corruption, as well as corporate lawyers.
He added that the Agency wants to pay specialists UAH 20,000, or about $745, monthly, but said this will depend on the state budget.
"We are concentrating on ensuring the search and management functions begin working in 2017. Maybe not 100%, but at least so the Agency can realize these tasks," the Agency head said.
Yanchuk said the Agency will try to fill these positions before the start of winter, which will allow the Agency to begin work.
