Regions Party MP Dzhyha appointed Vinnytsia region governor

Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has appointed Mykola Dzhyha head of Vinnytsia regional state administration.

Yanukovych signed a relevant decree on Wednesday, June 2, according to the president's Web site.

Earlier, the president dismissed Volodymyr Demyshkan from this post due to his appointment as head of the State Motor Road Service (Ukravtodor).

Dzhyha is MP from the Regions Party faction. In 1998-2000 he was first deputy interior minister and head of the ministry's main department for fighting organized crime and corruption.
