Survey: Klitschko-Sosnowski fight attracts almost twice as many viewers than Eurovision final
The number of those who watched the fight between WBC world heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko of Ukraine and Albert Sosnowski of Poland was almost twice the number of viewers of the Eurovision Song Contest 2010 final.
Inter TV Channel's press office reported the figures on Monday, citing the results of a survey conducted by GfK Ukraine, that the share of the fight's broadcasting was 40% and 31.3% (18+ and 18-54 audience), while for the Eurovision final broadcast on the First National TV Channel the figures were 20.9% and 25%.
According to Inter, the fight was the highest rated program on Saturday, May 29, its rating being 9.9% among the 18+ audience and 7.7% among the 18-54 audience.
Klitschko defended his title in a fight against mandatory challenger Sosnowski in Germany's Gelsenkirchen in the early hours of Sunday, May 30.
Klitschko knocked out his opponent in Round 10. This was the 42nd fight in the professional career of the Ukrainian boxer, with 38 out of 40 fights won by knockout and two lost (due to injury).
Germany's Lena with her song 'Satellite' won Eurovision 2010. Ukrainian singer Alyosha took 10th place.
