Ukraine mulling formation of vertically integrated companies in chemical industry

Ukraine is working on the issue of creating vertically integrated companies in the chemical industry, which will involve enterprises of various forms of ownership, Industry Minister Dmytro Kolesnikov has said in an interview with the government newspaper Uriadovy Kuryer.

"We are working on the issue of forming vertically integrated structures," he said.

The minister said that the structures would be designed to have a full production cycle and would concentrate financial resources through attracting investments.

In addition, Kolesnikov said that the government is currently considering the possibility of selling state stakes in several chemical companies in 2010.

The minister did not name the companies, but added that the privatization should help them overcome financial difficulties and return to pre-crisis levels of production.
