Japan supports further sanctions against Russia

The Japanese side remains committed to its position on maintaining sanctions against Russia, Ukrainian Ambassador to Japan Ihor Kharchenko said after a meeting between Ukrainian First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economic Development and Trade Stepan Kubiv with Japanese ministers in Tokyo.

"During the meetings held in Tokyo today between First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economic Development and Trade Stepan Kubiv and Japan's State Minister for Foreign Affairs Nobuo Kishi and Japan's Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Hiroshige Seko, the Japanese side confirmed its position on the extension of sanctions against Russia in connection with aggression against Ukraine and the solidarity of the Group of Seven (G7) member states on this issue," the Ukrainian ambassador wrote on Facebook on Thursday.
