Russian Minister of Economic Development Alexei Ulyukayev, who has been charged with taking a massive bribe, has asked the court to impose a softer restraining measure on him.
"I am open to maximum cooperation with investigators. I am asking for a softer restraining measure," Ulyukayev told the court.
Responding to a question from judge Artur Karpov, Ulyukayev said that he has two dependents, his elderly parents, born 1931 and 1932, who do not live with him.
"In view of this I ask you to select a softer restraining measure for me," he said.
Earlier on Tuesday the Russian Investigative Committee said it had petitioned the court to impose on Ulyukayev a restraining measure in the form of a house arrest.
