The fire on the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, including using mortars and infantry fighting vehicles, was opened 18 times in the military operation zone in Donbas throughout the day, the headquarters for the Ukrainian special operation in the east of the country said.
"A total of 13 shellings took place in the Mariupol sector. The enemy used 120mm and 82mm mortars and weapons from infantry fighting vehicles against the defenders of Talakivka," the press center of the special operation headquarters said in a report as of 6:00 p.m. on Monday published on Facebook.
The Ukrainian headquarters said that 122mm cannon artillery and mortars of both calibers were used in Shyrokyne and Vodiane, and the enemy used small arms in Novotroyitske.
Two armed provocations against the Ukrainian Armed Forces took place in the Luhansk sector. The enemy conducted fire from grenade launchers, machine guns and small arms in the directions of the Ukrainian army's units in Novo-Oleksandrivka, the headquarters said.
The reports said that three shelling of the Ukrainian positions were recorded in the Donetsk sector. In particular, the enemy opened fire from small arms and grenade launchers at the positions of the Ukrainian army near Avdiyivka and Luhanske, and from mortars in Verkhniotoretske, Kyiv headquarters said.
