Time of experiments with early parliamentary elections in Ukraine has gone, deputy speaker says

Ukraine's parliament will be elected within the timeframes envisaged by the Constitution, first deputy chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Oleksandr Lavrynovych of the Party of Regions has said.

"The Ukrainian parliament will be elected within the timeframes envisaged by Ukraine's Constitution," he said in an interview with Channel 5.

According to the first deputy speaker, there can be several conditions for holding early parliamentary election in Ukraine and all of them are envisaged in the constitution.

"I don't think that the early parliamentary elections may take place because of the actions or a desire of the opposition," Lavrynovych said when asked whether the Bloc of Yulia Tymoshenko could influence holding such elections after going into opposition.

"I think that Ukraine has already passed through the time of experiments and is unlikely to follow the voluntaristic desires of the opposition. This is not likely and not possible. This will not happen," Lavrynovych stressed.
