Head of the Russian Orthodox Church Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia has blessed Viktor Yanukovych for presidency in Ukraine.
Ukraine's president-elect took part in a solemn prayer, which was held in the morning at Kyiv-Pechersk Monastery.
Patriarch Kirill said that serving people requires enormous spiritual and physical strength. "Today we are praying to the Lord and Savior and the saints ... that they could together with you in the time of your responsible service to Ukraine," said the patriarch.
