Regions Party not abandoning plans to dismiss government, says MP

The Regions Party faction has not abandoned its initiative to pass a motion of no confidence in the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.

First deputy leader of the faction Oleksandr Yefremov said this in an interview with Interfax-Ukraine while commenting on a statement by Deputy Prime Minister Oleksandr Turchynov, who claimed that the Regions Party faction had withdrawn a draft no confidence motion from parliament.

"He [Turchynov] is wrong, he is ill-informed. We're having a discussion with Parliament Speaker Volodymyr Lytvyn about the procedure for submitting such a draft document. In any case, all the procedures on the preparation of this document will be completed today," he said.

As reported, on February 19, Yefremov registered in parliament a draft motion of no confidence in the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.

An announcement about the bill was posted on the official Web site of the Verkhovna Rada on Friday. The text of the document is not available yet.
