The European Union has made all arrangements to receive Ukrainian President-Elect Viktor Yanukovych in Brussels, and is waiting for Ukraine to confirm the date of the visit, which was reportedly scheduled for March 1, an informed source told Interfax-Ukraine on Tuesday.
According to the agency's interlocutor, Ukraine and the EU reached an agreement about Yanukovych's meeting with key European leaders - European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso, President of the European Parliament Jerzy Buzek, President of the EU Council Herman Van Rompuy.
A possible meeting with EU High Representative for Common Foreign and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission Catherine Ashton is being currently discussed. Yanukovych may also meet with European Commissioner for External Relations and European Neighborhood Policy Stefan Fule.
However, as of Tuesday, the Ukrainian side has not confirmed that the country's new president will visit Brussels on March 1.
