Ukrainian population census will be held in 2020 – Cabinet decree
The Cabinet of Ministers has postponed the Ukrainian population census from 2016 to 2020.
This is fixed in government order No. 1323-r of December 16.
"To put the following changes to Cabinet order No. 581 dated April 9, 2008 on holding the national census in 2016: to change the figure "2016" in the title and paragraph one to "2020"," reads the document.
In addition, the resolution was supplemented with paragraph 6: "The state statistical authorities should use software and hardware purchased for processing materials of the national census to meet the current challenges when holding the national census."
The first and the only census during Ukraine's independence was held on December 5, 2001. That time more than 48 million inhabitants were registered.
