Donbas quiet on Wednesday morning, nine truce violations by militants observed over past day
The Donbas militants committed nine violations of the truce in Donbas on Tuesday using grenade launchers and small arms, the army operation press center wrote on Facebook on Wednesday morning.
Ukrainian strongholds in Mayorsk came under sniper rifle, small arms and grenade launcher fire in the period from 6 p.m. till 7 p.m. Also, the militia's small arms fired on Ukrainian positions in Zaytseve at around 7 p.m.
The militants used small arms against army strongholds in Lozove at 6:55 p.m., 9:40 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. Grenade launchers of the militia shelled Ukrainian positions in Luhanske at about 11 p.m.
The militia used a grenade launcher near Sokilnyky in the Luhansk sector at 10:30 p.m.
Kyiv also claimed a series of provocations. It said the militia's intense fire was observed in the vicinity of Zaytseve, close to the contact line, at about 6 p.m., and an automatic grenade launcher was fired near Luhanske at 6:40 p.m. Some 30 grenades fired by the militants hit the terrain 300 meters from the Ukrainian positions, Kyiv said.
According to the press center, the Ukrainian army was honoring the Minsk agreements and did not return fire.
No shelling incidents happened in the army operation zone in Donbas in the period from midnight till 6 a.m. on September 23.
