Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk will pay working visits to Poland on September 9 and to Slovakia on September 10, a Ukrainian government spokesperson said.
In Warsaw, the Ukrainian head of government is due to meet with Polish President Andrzej Duda and Prime Minister Ewa Kopacz. The negotiating agenda will cover a range of political, economic and humanitarian issues concerning the two countries' strategic partnership, as well as cooperation in bringing peace and security to the region.
The talks will focus, in particular, on the further use of Poland's experience in implementing the Ukrainian government's program of domestic reforms and on efforts to increase bilateral trade, develop trans-border infrastructure, energy cooperation and cultural and social dialogue. Particular focus will be on Ukrainian-Polish cooperation in the context of international efforts to settle the Donbas conflict, as well as in the field of Ukraine's integration into the European Union and NATO, the spokesperson said.
During Yatseniuk's visit to Poland the two countries will also sign bilateral agreements. In Warsaw, the Ukrainian and Polish government will sign an agreement on the provision of a 100 million euro loan under the tied aid conductions, whereby funding is provided for projects to build border road infrastructure and border checkpoints on the Ukrainian-Polish border and other projects. The two countries will also sign an agreement on a youth exchange aimed at launching a mechanism for bilateral cooperation in youth-exchange affairs, youth cooperation and deeper communication between the two countries' young people.
During his visit to Bratislava on September 10, Yatseniuk will meet with Slovak President Andrej Kiska and Parliamentary Speaker Peter Pellegrini, and he will hold talks with Prime Minister Robert Fico.
The agenda of the talks with Slovak leaders involves a number of bilateral issues, including security policy, energy, trade and humanitarian cooperation, and Ukraine's European and Euro-Atlantic integration.
During this visit, the two countries are expected to sign a number of bilateral inter-departmental documents concerning their cooperation on energy efficiency, energy saving and renewable energy, as well as cooperation in physical education and sports.
