The press center of the Ukrainian army operation in Donbas has accused militants of using artillery weapons, tanks and small arms against the Ukrainian army's positions in the region since Monday evening.
"Artillery weapons, mortars, tank guns, submachine guns and small arms were used against our positions near Avdiyivka, Opytne, Pisky, Vodiane, Verkhniotoretske, Veselivka Druha, Novolaspy, Starohnativka and Schastia," the press center said on its Facebook account.
According to it, after midnight militants attacked the localities Pisky, Hranitne and Avdiyivka using 120mm mortars.
One instance of shelling was registered near the city of Mariupol, the press center said.
But there has been no shelling in the Luhansk region.
For his part, Hennadiy Moskal, who heads the Kyiv-appointed military-civilian administration of the Luhansk region, claims that militants' forces fired mortars at Stanytsia Luhanska overnight.
"Although no such information has been received from affected civilians and the military, mines damaged high-voltage power lines, causing a blackout in the district's center," Moskal's press service reported.
Moskal also said that the latest strikes had damaged a water retaining facility, located between the village of Krymske, which is under Kyiv's control, and the militants-controlled village of Sokilnyky.
Grenade launchers were fired at the town of Schastia several times last night, he said.
No fatalities or injuries have been reported, Moskal said.
"The 'silence regime' has been observed in other flashpoints," he added.
