A signing of the final document at the Eastern Partnership Summit in Riga on May 21-22 will be difficult, Luxembourg Foreign Minister Jean Asselborn said.
Speaking before a meeting of the EU Foreign Affairs Council in the format of Ministers of Defence and Ministers of Foreign Affairs, he told the journalists that even member states of the Eastern Partnership have no common position over territorial integrity of Ukraine while there should be unanimity over this issue.
Besides, according to Asselborn, the states should be unanimous when condemning violations of the international law in regard of Crimea as well.
On the other hand, the European Union engaged in the debates in an attempt to find a balance between the solidarity with the countries of the Eastern Partnership and a notion of the enlargement policy, what is not easy, he stressed.
