President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has signed decrees to award 3,181 servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, 239 servicemen of the State Border Service of Ukraine and 44 officers of the Security Service of Ukraine, who were injured during the anti-terrorist operation (ATO), with the "Defender of the Motherland" medals.
"Those awarded have shown personal courage, dedication, professionalism and loyalty to the military oath during the anti-terrorist operation in Donetsk and Luhansk regions," the president's press service reported on Saturday.
