Two Ukrainian soldiers of the Donbas battalion have been released from captivity in Ukraine's east, adviser to the deputy defense minister, Vasyl Budyk, has said.
"Today, as a result of direct negotiations of the Defense Ministry's interaction department with an officer in charge of POWs issues in Donetsk, two fighters of the Donbas battalion were released," Budyk wrote on his Facebook page on Saturday.
As reported, the Ukrainian authorities estimate the number of Ukrainians held captive by militants at 400 people as of mid-April, nearly 1,500 are unaccounted for.
