Laimdota Straujuma, Prime Minister of Latvia which currently chairs the European Union Council has said that the EU should give some perspective of European integration to its eastern partners.
"A little bit more than 10 days before Eastern Partnership Summit, which will be held in Riga, I'd like to urge my European partners to make everything possible to give our eastern neighborhood partners some perspective, some vision, some hope of European integration. It means values," she said at a political discussion in Gdansk on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the victory over Nazism.
According to her, drawing lessons from history Europe must do everything possible to keep its values alive.
As expected, Ukraine expects that the EU will present prospects of partnership and decision on the visa-free regime for Ukraine at the Eastern Partnership Summit.
