Illegal armed formations continue to shell Ukrainian military positions in the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) zone in eastern Ukraine, which proves that their leaders' statements about the withdrawal of all their heavy weapons are lies, ATO spokesman Anatoliy Stelmakh has said.
"The Donetsk sector remains the hottest stretch of the contact line. At 19:05 Kyiv time on March 11 the criminals used 152mm caliber artillery systems to fire on Avdiyivka. Artillery systems were also used from 21:20 to 21:50 Kyiv time to shell the villages of Pisky and Vodiane. This once again proves that the militants' statements about the withdrawal of all their heavy weapons under the Minsk Agreements do not correspond with reality," he said at a briefing in Kyiv on Thursday.
From 19:00 Kyiv time on March 11 to midnight on March 12, the militants violated the ceasefire 25 times, and three more attacks were registered at midnight, Stelmakh said.
Mortar and grenade launcher systems were used to shell Pisky, Avdiyivka, Opytne, and Vodiane.
Small arms were used to fire at Ukrainian positions in Shyrokyne, which is near the Ukrainian-controlled city of Mariupol. The Artemivsk sector saw four attacks with militants using small arms and mortars to attack the village of Leninske. In the Luhansk sector, the enemy used small arms to fire at the Ukrainian military's fortified tactical locality near the village of Sukhodil.
