High Qualification Commission of Judges elects new leaders
The High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine has elected a new chairman, deputy chairman and secretary.
At the commission's constituent meeting, Serhiy Kozyakov was elected Chairman of the Commission, Mykola Patriuk – his deputy and Stanislav Schotka – as secretary, the commission's press service reported.
Eight newly appointed members of the High Qualification Commission of Judges were present at the constituent meeting – Anastasia Zaritska, Serhiy Kozyakov, Mykhailo Makarchuk, Mykola Mishyn, Mykola Patriuk, Yuriy Titov, Valentyn Ustymenko and Stanislav Schotka.
As reported, on October 15, the commission approved the resignation of the then commission's head, Judge of the Supreme Court of Ukraine Ihor Samsin, and terminated his membership of the High Qualification Commission of Judges.
Earlier, Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk said that as part of the new bill on judicial administration and status of judges, the Cabinet of Ministers suggested creating a unified agency on the basis of the High Council of Justice and High Qualification Commission of Judges.
