Head of National Security Committee proposes requesting military ally status for Ukraine from US Congress

The MP and member of the Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security and Defense Serhiy Pashynsky has asked the parliament to appeal to the US Congress to grant Ukraine status as a military ally of the United States.

"I'm announcing that I will ask the colleagues to support [my proposal] on Thursday. At the moment a draft resolution on an appeal of the Verkhovna Rada to address the US Congress to grant Ukraine US military ally status is being registered. This issue is a political one. I'm asking to put it on agenda on Thursday," Pashynsky said during the parliamentary Conciliatory Council meeting on Monday.
