MP Petro Poroshenko (non-affiliated) and former Prime Minister of Ukraine, leader of Batkivschyna all-Ukrainian Union Yulia Tymoshenko lead in a presidential poll conducted by the Rating Sociological Group and the Razumkov Center.
According to the results of the poll posted on Wednesday, a total of 85.4% of the respondents are to a certain extent sure that they will vote in the early presidential elections (62.2% are sure and 23,2% – are likely to come).
If the elections were conducted in the nearest future, 28.2% of all the respondents (or 42.3% of all those, who are going to come to the elections and have already decided, who to vote for) are going to vote for Poroshenko.
Tymoshenko is going to be supported by correspondingly 13% and 19.1%, Sergiy Tigipko – by correspondingly 6.1% and 8.8%.
Doctor Olha Bohomolets will be supported by correspondingly 3.7% and 5.5%, leader of Radical party Oleh Liashko – by correspondingly 3.7% and 5.5%.
Regions party's candidate Mykhailo Dobkin will receive the votes of correspondingly 3.6% and 5.2% of the respondents, Communist party leader Petro Symonenko – correspondingly 3.2 and 4.6%, Civil Position party leader Anatoliy Hrytsenko – correspondingly 3% and 4.3%, Svoboda party leader Oleh Tiahnybok – correspondingly 1.6% and 2.3%, Right Sector leader Dmytro Yarosh – correspondingly 1.2% and 1.9%.
Other candidates gained less than 1% of the votes.
"When comparing these results with the results of the poll conducted through March 14-19 by four social services (the Socis Center for Social and Marketing Research, Kyiv International Institute of Sociology, the Rating Sociological Group and the Razumkov Center), when the lists still included UDAR party leader Vitali Klitschko, it's evident that the support for Poroshenko has considerably increased (from 24.9% to 28.2%), as well as for Tymoshenko (from 8.2% to 13.0%) and Tigipko (from 6.1% to 7.3%)," reads the press release of the Rating Sociological Group.
The survey was conducted through March 28-April 2 among Ukrainians aged over 18. A total of 3,011 respondents were interviewed in all the regions of Ukraine (excluding the population of Crimea). The survey's margin of error does not exceed 1.9%.
Ukraine's presidential elections are scheduled for May 25. There are 23 registered candidates.
