Ukraine's First Vice-Speaker Oleksandr Lavrynovych of the Regions Party has said that there will be no meeting of the Verkhovna Rada on Wednesday.
"I see no point in starting the Verkhovna Rada's work. There's hardly a chance of it, as the volume of work that needs to be done... will take at least a day. Which means that there will be no plenary meeting today," he told reporters on Wednesday.
Lavrynovych also criticized Speaker Volodymyr Lytvyn for publicly disclosing details of a telephone conversation during a failed meeting of the conciliatory council.
"I think this was unethical. Such approaches to work in the parliament won't produce any results," he said.
The vice-speaker explained that he learned from representatives of other factions about a conciliatory council's meeting fifteen minutes before it was to start, while a meeting of the representatives of the Regions Party and the Bloc of Yulia Tymoshenko on the issue of raising social standards was underway at his office.
