Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko has been ranked at No. 47 among the world's 100 most powerful women according to the Forbes magazine, reads a statement posted on the magazine's Web site.
In 2008, Tymoshenko was ranked 17th in the same rating.
At No. 1, for the fourth consecutive year, is German Chancellor Angela Merkel.
Top ten most powerful women also include six representatives of the United States, and one representative each of the United Kingdom, Germany, and Singapore. All of them are businesswomen.
The list includes the presidents of Argentina, Chile, Philippines, Liberia, Finland and Ireland ranked 11th, 22nd, 44th, 66th, 67th, and 68th respectively, and the queens of the United Kingdom and Jordan ranked 42nd and 75th respectively. First U.S. lady Michelle Obama appears at No. 40.
