The Ukrainian government is planning to involve experts of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to draft and analyze the state budget for 2010, Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko has said.
"I addressed the IMF and invited a special mission headed by [IMF Mission Chief in Ukraine] Ceyla Pazarbasioglu [to visit Ukraine] from August 31 to September 4 to draft the budget for 2010," she said while opening a government meeting in Kyiv on Wednesday.
Tymoshenko said that the next year's budget is being drafted according to schedule and that the government is planning to table the document in parliament on time.
She said that the draft budget is based on a macroeconomic forecast and a budget deficit forecast agreed with international financial institutions.
Tymoshenko also said that there were no grounds, apart from political ones, to postpone the adoption of the state budget for 2010.
