Kyiv city police chief Valeriy Koriak and his deputy Petro Fedchuk will be taken to task for the violent dispersal of a demonstration in the center of Kyiv on November 30 that protested the government's decision to put on hold a planned association agreement with the European Union, Prosecutor General Viktor Pshonka said on Saturday.
"Both the police chief of Kyiv and his deputy, to whom Berkut was directly accountable, were responsible for the action of Berkut. We have all the recordings of negotiations. Investigators have seized them. We have also made a detailed study of what was submitted by MP [Anatoliy] Hrytsenko [lawmaker representing the opposition Batkivschyna party]," Pshonka said on Saturday.
