Viacheslav Kyrylenko will remain leader of the Our Ukraine-People Self-Defense faction in Ukraine's parliament.
Faction member Kseniya Liapina told this to reporters on Saturday.
"Viacheslav Kyrylenko will not only remain the faction leader, but he is likely to be the first deputy chairman [of the Our Ukraine People's Union]," she said.
According to Liapina, the issue of the election of Viacheslav Kyrylenko first deputy leader of the party and the endorsement of the party council and the presidium will be considered at the second stage of the congress.
"But the president in his address clearly stressed that Kyrylenko is a unique person and that he is thankful to him for the work Kyrylenko is doing and will be doing in the party. He [Yuschenko] stressed that as a president and a very busy person, he would like Kyrylenko to conduct day-to-day management of the party," the MP said.
