Kyiv has suggested the European Union consider the question of canceling visa fee payments for Ukrainian citizens traveling to EU member states, Ukrainian Deputy Foreign Minister Kostiantyn Yeliseyev has said.
"We proposed that it is necessary to cancel visa fee payments for Ukrainians who go to the EU, and we hope that this question will be discussed constructively," he said in Brussels on Friday, following a meeting of the joint committee on the consideration of the question of visa facilitation procedures.
Moreover, Ukraine suggested extending a list of the categories of citizens to whom the facilitated procedures for visa issuance will be applied. He said that representatives of non-governmental organizations and religious communities had been included in this list.
Yeliseyev said it had been agreed that a delegation of EU officials would visit Ukraine on December 8-9 to continue the visa-free regime dialogue.
