Consumer prices in Ukraine in August 2013 fell by 0.7%, following a 0.1% slide in July, while since the beginning of 2013 they have decreased by 0.6%, the State Statistics Service reported on Friday.
According to the report, in annual terms (against the same month of the previous year) deflation was 0.4% in August, zero in July and 0.1% in June.
Industrial producer prices in August grew by 1.2%, although since the beginning of 2013 they fell by 1.9%. In annual terms, industrial producer prices in August decreased by 0.9%.
As reported, in 2012, deflation in Ukraine was 0.2% after slow of inflation to 4.6% in 2011 from 9.1% in 2010.
The government predicts that inflation in 2013 will accelerate to 4.8-6.1%.
