Vadym Titushko, Serhiy Prykhodko and Mykhailo Pshuk, who are charged with beating up journalists in downtown Kyiv on May 18, have been put on probation.
Shevchenkivsky District Court issued a relevant ruling in Kyiv on Monday, an Interfax-Ukraine correspondent reported.
The court approved the terms of an amicable settlement signed between the complainants and the defendants and sentenced Titushko for three years in prison with a two-year probation period. Pshuk and Prykhodko were sentenced to two years of imprisonment with a probation period of a year and a half.
In addition, in accordance with the agreement, the offenders are jointly compensate UAH 707 in material damage to a journalist of Channel 5, Olha Snitsarchuk, and UAH 1,613 to a photographer of the Kommersant newspaper, Vladyslav Sodel.
Titushko is also to pay UAH 11,000 to each journalist in compensation for material damages caused. Pshuk and Prikhodko are to together pay UAH 4,000 to each journalist.
