The Ukrainian Security Service (SBU) has imposed a five-year entry band on Jared Hennegan, known better by his stage name 'Evil' Jared Hasselhoff, the bassist of the U.S. rock group Bloodhound Gang, for defiling national symbols.
"In the interests of protecting Ukraine's security and being guided by Article 13 of the Ukrainian law on legal status of foreigners and people without citizenship, the Security Service has decided to ban Jared Hennegan from entering Ukrainian territory for five years," the Security Service told Interfax on Tuesday evening.
While Bloodhound Gang was performing at the Odesa-based nightclub Ibiza in late July, Hennegan did what many considered as the defiling of a Russian national flag. A video available on YouTube shows him tucking the Russian white-blue-red tricolor into the front of his pants, then pulling it out of the back and then throwing it to the crowd.
