The National Institute of International Security Problems will not be liquidated, however, its staff will be cut to 120 people.
President Viktor Yuschenko amended his decree No. 997 of November 4, 2008, on some measures on decreasing expenditures of the national budget to maintain government bodies. The text of the respective decree No. 1107 was posted on the presidential Web site on November 27. The document takes effect on the day of its publication.
The decree of November 4, 2008, foresaw that the National Institute of International Security Problems and the Institute of National Security Problems would be merged into a single scientific center.
