Yanukovych: Authorities should create favorable conditions for work and ensure decent wages to all Ukrainians

Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has congratulated Ukrainians on International Workers' Day.

"At this festive springtime we have a wonderful opportunity to honor everyone who builds and strengthens our country. Labor is the highest value of the state, a driving force of its development. Therefore, one of the main tasks for the authorities is to create favorable conditions for realizing everyone's right to work and receive a decent wage," Yanukovych said in an address released by his press service on Wednesday.

The head of state recalled that a new law on employment came into force this year and that it would "ensure the development of the economy, the creation of jobs and further improvement of social standards."

Yanukovych wished Ukrainians good health, inspiration, prosperity and realization of their ideas and initiatives.
