Focus: Akhmetov, Kolomoisky, Boholiubov top list of richest Ukrainians in 2013
SCM Group owner Rinat Akhmetov remains the richest Ukrainian as of March 2013 according to the Focus magazine, whereas his partner in the Metinvest mining and metallurgical holding, Vadim Novinsky, is behind PrivatBank owners Ihor Kolomoisky and Hennadiy Boholiubov.
According to the magazine's estimates, which were released on Thursday with the publication of the rating of the 200 richest people in the country, Akhmetov's fortune last year shrank from $18.66 billion to $16.83 billion, whereas Kolomoisky and Boholiubov saw their wealth decline from $4.19 billion to $3.645 billion each.
At the same time, Group DF owner Dmytro Firtash, according to the magazine, managed to increase his wealth from $2.83 billion to $3.327 billion, which enabled him to rise from fifth to fourth place, ahead of Novinsky, whose fortune shrank from $4.37 billion to $3.273 billion.
EastOne owner Victor Pinchuk's wealth grew from $1.8 billion to $2.15 billion, which brought him from eighth to sixth position, while Kostiantyn Zhevaho lost $340 billion and, with a fortune of $1.92 billion, dropped to seventh place.
Konstantin Grigorishin, whose assets shrank, according to Focus, from $2.02 billion to $1.814 billion, lost one spot and dropped to eighth position.
The majority stockholder in the MHP agricultural holding, Yuriy Kosiuk, became the newcomer in the top ten, with a $1.514 billion wealth, in place of ISD co-owner Serhiy Taruta, whereas Donetsksteel owner Viktor Nusenkis, whose wealth increased from $1.4 billion to $1.507 billion last year, is in tenth place.
