The Russian Federation has proposed that Ukraine switch to using a formula while setting the price for gas, first deputy chairman of Naftogaz Ukrainy Ihor Dydenko has said. "About five or six weeks ago, we received a draft agreement from Gazprom, in which they offer to use a formula [for setting the gas price]," Didenko said at a round table meeting "Energy policy in condition of the world economic crisis," which was held in Kyiv on Wednesday.
Didenko noted that this approach is similar to that proposed by Russia to Turkmenistan and Belarus.
In his turn, Naftogaz Ukrainy CEO Oleh Dubyna said that according to a Russian-Ukrainian inter-governmental memorandum, the formula for setting the gas price would be introduced in three years.
