Kyiv Regional Police are continuing to investigate a road accident that occurred through the fault of famous Ukrainian composer and music producer Kostiantyn Meladze, the media liaisons department of the Ukrainian Interior Ministry's main office in Kyiv region told Interfax-Ukraine on Monday.
The investigation into the incident is continuing and that not all of the examinations have been yet conducted.
"Meladze is cooperating with investigators," the police said.
The regional police said that prosecutors were overseeing the investigation into this case.
As reported, Meladze was driving the Lexus car which knocked down and killed a 30-year-old woman on the Kyiv-Obukhiv highway near the Piatykhatky bus stop on December 27, 2012.
Criminal proceedings were launched under Part 2, Article 286 of the Criminal Code (violation of traffic rules or vehicle operation rules), which envisages up to eight years of imprisonment.
Reports on December 29 said that Meladze was still a witness in the case. According to media reports, the police promised that all examinations would be completed by this spring and that Meladze would be officially declared a suspect in violation of traffic rules.
