The sum of government and private investment in the development of infrastructure of Dnipropetrovsk region as a part of preparations for hosing the Eurobasket 2015 will reach UAH 3.2 billion, including some UAH 1 billion of private investment.
Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Oleksandr Vilkul said at a session of the Dnipropetrovsk regional council on Friday that 25% of private investment are own funds of investors and 75% are borrowed funds, which investors take at banks. He said that during five years investors will return the principal of the loans and the state will compensate the credit rates. The credit rate will be lower than the average credit rate on the market.
“The state will build a new runway at the Dnipropetrovsk airport, and the investor will build a modern terminal and a multifunctional arena,” Vilkul said.
As a part of the preparations to the championship, the Meteor sports palace in Dnipropetrovsk will be reconstructed and funds for the development of existing infrastructure (reconstruction of roads and improvement of the territory) will be allocated.
Vilkul set a task to work on the possibilities of expanding the hotel infrastructure by regional authorities and representatives of business.
