Ukrainian President Viktor Yuschenko has said he is sure that parliament will reject his proposals for candidates to government posts appointed under his quota.
"I can submit [nominations to parliament] endlessly. I know that my candidates will be rejected," he said at the "Power and Business - Partners" forum in Kyiv on Monday.
Yuschenko said that half of the government's posts are vacant. In his opinion, the government wants only to free up positions while dismissing ministers.
"It's not important [for the government] who heads [the ministry]. It's important that an incumbent head is dismissed," Yuschenko said.
He said that as a result of similar actions, "time and potential are being wasted."
Yuschenko expressed confidence that the candidacy of Oleh Shamshur for Ukraine's foreign minister, which was not even considered by parliament, would again become an issue within a few months.
The foreign, defense and interior ministers are appointed by parliament under presidential submissions.
