A 5+2 format meeting to continue the Transdniestrian settlement talks will be held in Lviv on February 19, 2013, according to the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine.
The ministry's press service said that the sides' political representatives would attend the meeting - Yevgeny Karpov from Moldova and Nina Shtanski from Transdniestria.
Ukraine's Ambassador to Moldova Serhiy Pyrozhkov will represent Ukraine and OSCE Special Representative for Protracted Conflicts, Ambassador Andriy Deschytsia and Head of the OSCE Mission to Moldova, Ambassador Jennifer Brush will represent the OSCE at the meeting.
According to the ministry, Russian Foreign Ministry's Ambassador at Large Sergei Gubarev, Head of the EU Delegation to Moldova Dirk Schuebel, United States' Ambassador to Moldova William H. Moser will also attend the meeting.
As reported, Ukraine, as the country chairing the OSCE in 2013, initiated a meeting of the Moldovan and Transdniestrian leaders in Lviv in the 5+2 format to settle the conflict between the countries. However, the Transdniestrian side refused to participate in the meeting.
The Foreign Ministry of Transdniestria said that Moldovan Prime Minister Vladimir Filat and Transdniestrian leader Yevgeny Shevchuk would not meet due to the absence of documents ready for the signing.
The OSCE expressed its disappointment by Transdniestria's refusal and said the 5+2 talks would not benefit from it.
Kyiv said that the Transdniestrian conflict settlement is a priority task during Ukraine's chairmanship at the OSCE in 2013.
