The Consultative Committee of the Presidents of Poland and Ukraine has almost completed the harmonization of a draft strategic partnership program between the countries for 2013-2015 at its 23rd meeting.
According to the press service of the Ukrainian president, the draft document will be submitted to the heads of states for signing in the near future.
"The Polish side has also drawn up a plan of bilateral political contacts for the current year and a schedule of top-level visits. The presidential envoys discussed the preparations for a working visit of Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych to Poland due at the beginning of the third decade of February, during which the head of state will meet with Polish President Bronislaw Komorowski and President of Slovakia Ivan Gasparovic," the press service said.
The sides focused on Ukraine-Poland cooperation on the issues related to Ukraine's European integration, primarily in the context of the preparations for the EU-Ukraine Summit and the signing of the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement.
The participants of the meeting also discussed important issues of cooperation between the countries in the political, economic, social and other spheres. In this context the sides paid special attention to the implementation of agreements that were earlier approved by the Polish and Ukrainian presidents.
The Consultative Committee of the Presidents of Poland and Ukraine held its 23rd meeting in Kyiv. It was chaired by the presidential envoy to the committee and the head of the Presidential Administration, Serhiy Liovochkin, and the Polish president's envoy to the committee and the head of the Chancellery of the President of Poland Jacek Michalowski.
