The European Union is conducting internal work to make possible the signing of the Association Agreement with Ukraine, but the political situation in the country complicates this process, European Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighborhood Policy Stefan Fule has said.
"The European Union is already undertaking the necessary internal technical preparations to enable the signature of the Association Agreement. We are serious about our commitment to political association and economic integration with Ukraine," Fule said at a meeting with Ukrainian lawmakers in Kyiv on Thursday.
At the same time, he said that the political situation in Ukraine complicates and slows down this process.
