Member of Kyiv City Council Oleksandr Pabat of the Civil Active of Kyiv faction is in intensive care following an accident.
Interfax-Ukraine learned that Pabat's condition is very serious.
He allegedly received injuries as a result of the careless handling of fireworks.
Pabat has headed the Civil Active of Kyiv party since 2005. In 2010 he ran for the president of Ukraine.
He was named as a likely candidate for the post of head of Sviatoshynsky District Administration, after the previous head, Serhiy Riumshyn, was dismissed for the poor organization of street cleaning measures in the district this winter.
