Ukrainian President Viktor Yuschenko has awarded Dynamo FC (Kyiv) President Ihor Surkis the Order of Yaroslav the Wise of the fifth grade.
An announcement of the award of November 21, 2008 has been posted on the Verkhovna Rada official Web site in a section entitled "legislation".
Surkis is being given the award for "his considerable personal contribution to the development of Ukrainian football, the rise of the sporting authority of Ukraine in the world, and longstanding, honest work on the 50th Anniversary of his birth," reads the document.
Surkis was born on November 22 in 1948. He has been the president of Dynamo FC (Kyiv) since June 2002.
