A citizen of Turkey was at the wheel of the MAN truck which collided with a car in Khmelnytsky region on December 31, the press service of the traffic police department reported on Tuesday.
A 51-year-old foreigner lost control of the truck, drove into the oncoming lane and collided with a Renaul Duster driven by a 50-year-old resident of the village of Zolotonosha, Cherkasy region. The driver of the latter and his four passengers died on the spot, the public relations department of the Ukrainian Interior Ministry said.
A criminal case was opened into the accident on charges of violation of traffic safety rules, the Ministry said.
