Tymoshenko wishes Ukrainians to give love to nearest and dearest

The convicted former Ukrainian prime minister and leader of the oppositional Batkivschyna Party, Yulia Tymoshenko, has greeted Ukrainians on the New Year and wished them not to waste their time and to give love to their nearest and dearest.

"I want us after the holidays to change the normal course of events, change the order of our priorities, and try to give more time, more love, and more attention to the people we love – our spouses, children, parents, and relatives. All the time you spend every day fussing over things you think are important is just time taken away from those you love. And you will never get it back. Only later, when you are separated, because it will happen sooner or later to everyone, do we understand that we didn't love enough, didn't provide warmth and care to those without whom we can't imagine our lives," reads New Year's message from Tymoshenko posted on her Web site.

She also wished Ukrainians not to waste their time on things that are not worthy of love.

"No matter how hard our daily lives, when you ring in the New Year you put aside all your troubles, gather with your family around the table, say kind and important words to those close to you, warm each other with your love. In these minutes you are happy and in peace. But when the holidays pass, you again return to the gray and monotonous everyday that leaves no room for emotions and sentiment," the ex-premier said.

"I hope that you live your life to the fullest and dedicate it to those people dearest to you in this world," Tymoshenko said.
