No grounds for bread price rise, says Ukrainian premier

Ukraine has enough grain reserves and therefore there are no reasons for bread price to rise, Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov has said.

"There are no grounds for the prices of the cheapest types of bread to rise. We have enough reserves of grain and flour of last year's harvest," Azarov wrote on his Facebook page on Friday.

The prime minister noted that the rumors about growing price of bread were spread deliberately.

"This is the way lobbyists always do, and it is no coincidence that this campaign was started by Kyivmlyn Corporation. Once the opposition won the elections in Kyiv, they announced the price increase on the same day. They have become bold enough. We have corrected them," Azarov wrote.

The premier believes that the issue of the bread price rise will be used by certain political forces who received seats in parliament. "Kyiv residents should have started asking their MPs, what they did to ensure stable price of bread in Kyiv? I can already see what these MPs will do: they will make queries to the government and build their policy on this," the premier added.
