Media: Avakov indignant at political attack launched by authorities over body of his deceased employee
Employees of Kharkiv's department for combating economic crimes made threats against former Head of JSC Investor Oleksandr Motylevsky and demanded that he pay money, according to Arsen Avakov, the owner of the company and the head of the Kharkiv regional branch of the Batkivschyna Party.
"As I was told, threats were made against him and he was told that he would become an underdog and would answer for all. And then they allegedly extorted money. He said that then he would be made a witness. Unfortunately, Sasha did not say anything to us about this situation. Probably, he was embarrassed that he left the company in May. I hoped that he would cope with this himself, finding lawyers. But it turned out that he had failed to do that," Avakov told ZN.UA.
He said that Motylevsky was summoned for questioning to the department for combating economic crimes ten days ago.
Avakov expressed regret at the death of Motylevsky and described as meanness "a political attack that was launched over the body of the dead man."
"But these authorities cannot surprise me," Avakov said.
In his opinion, Motylevsky committed suicide, as he was unable to bear the pressure.
As reported, on October 31, former Head of Investor Oleksandr Motylevsky fell from his apartment on the ninth floor.
Avakov was the first to report the incident. He said that Motylevsky "could not stand the pressure of the situation."
