A Russian drone attack destroyed nearly UAH 28 million worth of humanitarian supplies belonging to the Ukrainian Red Cross Society (URCS) in Kherson.
"On the evening of Aug. 23, a Russian drone attack caused a fire at a Ukrainian Red Cross warehouse in Kherson. The fire damaged and destroyed humanitarian supplies stored at the warehouse worth nearly UAH 28 million," the URCS said on Facebook on Monday.
The supplies included equipment and materials for preparing for the autumn-winter period, as well as resources for responding to the aftermath of shelling, including materials for temporarily covering damaged buildings. The warehouse also stored medical supplies, blankets, hygiene kits, equipment for supplying water and electricity, and other humanitarian aid.
There were no casualties among URCS staff or volunteers.
"Despite the loss of humanitarian supplies, the URCS continues its work in Kherson and the region. Our teams continue to respond to the aftermath of attacks and provide people with the assistance they need," the URCS said.
