Russia strikes apartment building in Chernihiv, 14 people injured, including children – officials

Russian occupation forces struck a residential building in Chernihiv on the afternoon of Monday, Aug. 24, Chernihiv Regional Military Administration head Viacheslav Chaus said.

"Rescuers are working to put out the fire at the site of the strike. Medics are providing all necessary assistance. All emergency services are on the scene. Details are being confirmed," Chaus wrote on Telegram.

Chernihiv City Military Administration head Dmytro Bryzhynsky said the fire has since been contained.

"As of now, 14 people are known to have been injured, including two children aged 12 and 17. Three people were hospitalized, while the other 11 sustained minor injuries and were treated at the scene," he wrote on Telegram.

Bryzhynsky also added that, according to preliminary information, there were no fatalities in the attack.
